Beef brisket swimming in gravy
November 19, 2009 • Hello. I am currently out of the country and unable to respond to comments and e-mails. Rest assured, however, that future posts have been scheduled so new recipes will go live almost everyday during my absence. I'll be back soon with lots of stories and photos. Ciao for now! ~ Connie
I wasn’t planning on posting this recipe just yet. I would have preferred to wait until I could cook it again using a less fatty slab of beef brisket. But I showed it to my blogkada and, well… I decided to post the photo and recipe. If they like it, you might too.
It’s really nothing fancy, just slow-cooked slab of beef brisket, chilled, cut into bite-size pieces and stirred into homemade gravy. The night we had this for dinner, there were no leftovers.

hello ms. connie,
i have one question, when you say beef broth, the leftover water from where you boiled the beef? or is it a separate can of store bought beef broth?
Yes, it’s the cooking liquid. I don’t use canned broth.

Hi Connie. Instead of crackpot, you think its okay to use the pressure cooker instead?
Alma, yes.

ms. connie,
if I use the pressure cooker, do I follow the same procedure like putting in the vegetables all at the same time together with the beef?

Do you have to use different nicknames in your comments? You’re cel in some, bochok here, olachika in another.
The answer to your question is yes.
hahaha, sorry, i was trying to put an avatar in my profile unfortunately the first two names are already used so i ended up with olachika. sad to say my gravatar still isn’t working, aaargh!
or should i say i still don’t know how to activate it. hehehe!
Your gravatar is based on your email address, not your nickname.
hi connie! i want to try this dish (brisket swimming in gravy), but if i just slice the beef before cooking it, will it make a difference? thanks in advance for your reply!
The meat might not be as juicy.
