Perfectly said, Connie :) Some ready mixes are okay but, you know, it&#039;s like ready made sauces... you can&#039;t really claim that you cooked something if you just poured and mixed. The ones who eat may not be able to tell the difference but YOU CAN, right? It&#039;s a matter of self-respect, I guess. At least that&#039;s how I see it.</description>

You&#039;re right, this really feels like talking to myself. Your comments about Betty Crocker&#039;s muffins are very interesting. Here in the west if you&#039;re a serious baker, you usually won&#039;t admit using the boxed variety. But I know a lot of people who just jazz them up and pretend that they make them from scratch. I bake so I would know the difference in the taste and texture but &quot;the mass of men who lead lives of quiet desperation&quot; probably just won&#039;t care as long as it&#039;s sweet.
