Chicken pastel, vegetables and pork hamonado
Shortly after announcing that I was thinking if readers would like to contribute photos of their Pinoy Cook inspired home cooked meals, I received an e-mail from Dennis Glorioso with three photos attached. Dennis is a 41-year-old husband and father who likes to cook for his family. On the professional side, he works as an IT Manager for Megaworld Corporation. Yes, geeks can cook, I tell you. Never judge a person’s cooking skills and talent by his profession. But you know where and how being a geek and cooking intersect? It’s called food blogging. Dennis has actually started his own food blog. His Pinoy Cook inspired dishes?

Above, his chicken pastel. He’s partial to chicken dishes but especially loves chicken pastel.

Because his kids are picky with vegetables, he added quail eggs to his string beans and squash in coconut milk. Very creative.

And, Dennis’ third contribution, pork hamonado. The secret, he says, is in the sauce and marinade. I agree.
Tomorrow, I’ll share with you another reader’s photos and comments.

I love love love string beans and squash. I can eat it everyday. The addition of the quail eggs just makes me nom nom for it even more. Yum yum.
Pork hamonado used to be so mystical to me because I only taste it in weddings. But I think I will try to make it thanks to your inspiration.
I like your slogan “Home Cooking Rocks”. I remember a Filipina-Italian celeb who said that her uber rich hubby doesn’t like “lutong-bahay.” Here in the US home cooked meals(from scratch) are so special.
His recipes look good to bad for me because they are in “Tagaloish” (english/ tagalog mixture)
I Like His blog site… hehehe. Im an IT too nakakahilgan din magluto during my freetime and have it as baon sa offfice.. Thanks!
not bad! ordinary favorites with a twist. i like his idea of afritada with basil.
How come the chicken pastel does not have a crust?
Hi! I’m Dennis….Thanks Ms. Connie for posting and promoting my blog. It’s an honor to be selected from your millions of followers. God Bless You
Sa mga folowers mo…thank you for visiting mg own blog. Promise, mag-po-post pa ako ng iba ko pang naluto.
Congratulations to Dennis! I visited his blog upon reading Nathan’s comment. mabuti nga at marunong siyang magluto at mukhang maganda ang kanyang mga recipes. Thank to you too, Ms. Connie for coming up with this brilliant idea.
hmm… not really appetizing to look at… IMO
Salamat, Miss Connie for all recipes you have posted. Medyo matagal ko na ding sinusubaybayan itong website nyo. Eto ang guide ko dito sa Dubai, since I’ve been eating along for the past six months at marami din akong natutunan. Again, Thanks a lot.
I came across Dennis Glorioso’s blog last night and was intrigued because he said he came from my hometown in Bulacan. I called my sister on skype and asked her if she knew anybody by that that name. What do you know! Turned out he was one of her high school classmates. What a small world. Maybe someday i can learn how to use a camera good enough to take pictures of what’s cooking in my kitchen.
I wish that the “someday” will be very soon hehehe
