I cook cocido also and I use squash to thicken the soup. At least that's how my mom does it.

like all the others, i (and my family) come to like your recipes...real delicious and easy to cook. i would just like to ask if i can substitute tomato sauce for the 1 kilo of tomatoes, and how much should i add...tnx and more power.

dearest connie, youre an angel! discovering your special, and easy recipies are very helpful.i remember my mom cooks this on special occassions.sometimes she place saging na saba, camote, and cabbage....placing bacon(cut in thin strip makes the soup superb.and ends it with a can of Hunts pork&beans for the last touch.eggplant salad (cooked and minched, clove of fresh very minced garlic, venegar, salt & pepper, dash of sugar) is a perfect side dish.more power to you.....and God bless!
