Coffee jelly dessert

Rest assured, however, that future posts have been scheduled so new recipes will go live almost everyday during my absence. I'll be back soon with lots of stories and photos. Ciao for now! ~ ConnieI don’t know why… but coffee jelly seems to be the craze these days. Fastfoods and restaurants alike have it in their menus. Wendy’s, I think, was the first fastfood to serve coffee jelly. Not too good, the jelly wasn’t soft and chewy. Tough as nails, actually. Oh, okay, that’s an exaggeration. But, really, the jelly was far too tough for dessert. McDonald’s is also serving coffee jelly these days. Haven’t tried it though.
When I had a business (sic) lunch in a Japanese restaurant along T. Morato Avenue in Quezon City last week, I was pleasantly surprised that coffee jelly was on the menu as well and one of my companions heartily recommended it. I enjoyed it so much that I told them I would make my own version soon. And I did. There was even a bonus–I was able to put the Taster’s Choice vanilla roast coffee to good use. I knew it would be good for dessert, lousy as it may be for drinking.

This recipe is similar to the one my daughter concocted. She used almond jelly as well. But used french press coffee though. Yes, Coffee jelly is easy to make .

hi! my husband really likes coffee jelly and he has tried wendys, mcdonalds, starbucks and his winning choice for taste and value for money is the ice craze special coffee jelly dessert of Jollibee! Try it! i will try your recipe at home so my husband can have coffee jelly whenever he wants

i tried my first coffee jelly at some japanese restaurant in ortigas, haven’t tried others so, i dunno the difference…

Coffee jelly might be a good alternative for coffee lovers now that summer has set in. I usually crave for a hot cup of coffee after a hearty lunch at the office cafeteria. But just the thought of the intense heat that I’d be up against as I cross the streeet to the nearest coffee shop is enough to crush my craving.
I agree, coffee jelly seems to be the craze these days. Ice Monster has their own version, although I prefer fruit toppings on their ice concoctions. Sugi has coffee jelly in their dessert menu. I’ve tried it a few years back and it really tasted very good

Not a jelly fan, kats? It isn’t comfort food for you? LOL My kids can eat jelly all day long and not get bored. They prefer fruit flavored jelly though.
Oh, I agree, Flooke. Even iced coffee with the tons of whipped cream is just too heavy for the summer heat.

Hm, could it be Tempura? They do serve good coffee jelly. But I’m more of a tea person, so I got their green tea jelly, which is ok too.
Not Tempura… Forgot. I’ll ask the guys I had lunch with.
American fastfood restaurants always serve crazy different dishes in countries outside of the US. interesting.
I am a pastry chef in California. I have used coffee jelly in a few dishes in the past, but it is not at all a popular component here.

eh di nadagdagan na disenteng pagkain sa jollibee–peach mango pie AND now, coffee jelly.

From the looks of it, the coffee jelly seems tasty. I have a question though. Taster’s Choice is a bit expensive. Can I use an oridnary coffee instead? Pero I still have one problem on the Vanilla flavor..vanilla extract perhaps? gano po kadami?
