Holy basil

No joke. It is called holy basil, one of the varieties of basil and which is commonly found in Asia and the Middle East. Among the three kinds of basil that I have in the garden (the other two being Thai basil and lemon basil), the holy basil is the sturdiest and the most prolific in terms of growth.

    holy basil… wow…we call it sangig in waray. i remember when tatay used to cook ginataang manok(bisaya) with lemon grass, holy basil, ginger, chili peppers leaves and some green papaya. usually lunch/dinner is our conference time too since all of us is busy pag ito na yung inihanda ni labing padir hay naku lahat tahimik busy kasi sa tsibugan. makikita mo nalang lahat pinagpapawisan.
