Luyong (Chinese) Restaurant

November 19, 2009 • Hello. I am currently out of the country and unable to respond to comments and e-mails. Rest assured, however, that future posts have been scheduled so new recipes will go live almost everyday during my absence. I'll be back soon with lots of stories and photos. Ciao for now! ~ Connie

Luyong Chinese Restaurant in Marikina City

We were in Quezon City the other day to bring our younger girl to the doctor for a check-up. After hearing the doctor’s “NOT dengue” verdict, I suddenly rediscovered my appetite which went on a vacation since my daughter got sick on Sunday afternoon. My husband suggested a place that he and his co-workers frequent–a Chinese restaurant in Marikina City called Luyong.

Luyong is an unassuming restaurant. Its new location in a new building along J. P. Rizal in Concepcion-Uno was bright, clean and comfortable. Huge glass windows overlooked the busy street outside. The food was great and very inexpensive. A platter of sweet and sour pork, for instance, good for 2-3 persons, cost PhP 120.00. So, we feasted.

You can view photos of what we had for lunch here.

    Connie,

Paborito kong kainan to when I was still residing in Marikina, 20 years ago. Every Saturday, which is palengke day, I never failed to eat there. Nakakagutom remembering their fare. It’s just now a happy memory.

perkycinderella, ganun na pala katagal ang luyong? sabagay, pag ganyan kasarap ang pagkain, talagang dadami regular customers.
