Pesto and smoked salmon spaghetti
November 19, 2009 • Hello. I am currently out of the country and unable to respond to comments and e-mails. Rest assured, however, that future posts have been scheduled so new recipes will go live almost everyday during my absence. I'll be back soon with lots of stories and photos. Ciao for now! ~ Connie
Yesterday’s lunch. About two hours after experimenting with my Pinoy Pesto, I thawed the few slices of smoked salmon I had left. Then, I boiled some spaghetti–just enough for one meal.
While the spaghetti was boiling, I tore the smoked salmon into small pieces.
When the spaghetti was done, I drained it and, without rinsing with cold water, I placed it in a bowl. I added 2 tablespoonfuls of my Pinoy Pesto and the smoked salmon and tossed them all together.
And that was it! It was the best lunch I’ve had by myself in weeks.

This really does look satisfying. I’m going to have to try out smoked salmon and pesto in a dish – I’m sure those combined flavors are magic.
hi sassy,
how long can you keep the pesto in the ref? parang takam na takam ako sa lunch mo..
ulaparaw
They were just wonderful, Erin. Hope you enjoy the combination as much as I did.
Ulaparaw, if I don’t consume the pesto in two weeks, I throw it out. I really don’t know that it isn’t safe after that but 2 weeks does not seem to be an arbitrary period to me.
That pasta sounds fanastic. I made a spinach pesto the other day that was really simple to make, and delicious. I think the salmon would be a wonderful addition. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, I like the new look! The mushrooms are so cute. And yummy.
Hi Cate. Spinach pesto sounds wonderful! I’ll try that soon.

hi, i have been a fan of your cooking ever since and thank you very much for your wonderful recipes.
i love your recipes and my wife and I try them as we both love to cook. The salmon looks yummy
i will certainly try this.
i also usually cook and create my own pesto sauce w/pasta, but what I mix with mine is shitake mushrooms and peeled shrimps. my wife and friends love it:)
cheers!
I think my kids will love pesto with shrimp much better than with anchovies. Thanks for the tip. They’re such shrimp lovers.
Hi Miss Connie!
Ask ko lng po bat ayaw lumabas ng recipe nung pinoy pesto? We live somewhere here in Middle East and Mommy ko po kasama ko and medyo na-addict po sya s pasta dish n may pesto.
I just want to make one for her with the pinoy pesto twist
Thanks po!
Marifel
