ahh… old school is the best. every time I hear the word ma mon luk, it’s true there is a unique aroma and taste that when you smell it, you’ll think of china and the next thing that comes to mind is ” family”. I love this place. This is the only restaurant that my Dad used to bring us. I’m even teary eyed while making this comment right now & reminiscing my younger days. There used to stand a mamonluk in cubao near thunder disco but now the only place I could bring my daughter is the one that stands in Quezon Ave. I am happy my hubby and I were able to show her the place and let her eat what I used to have and still enjoy eating with my Dad and Mom.

I do this too… It just makes the soup a lot more “bodied”. I have actually “converted” my husband into a Ma Mon Luk fan…to think that his family used to live a few blocks away from Quezon Avenue, he’s never tried it before he met me! Now we live in the south and we never miss eating or getting take-away when we pass by QC…Happy childhood memories! Haaay….
